James Walker (Leith) Ltd is a privately owned Scottish company founded in Inverness in 1863. Today it is the Holding Company for a group of independently managed companies, which cover six main areas of activity - Engineered Timber Products, Timber Logistics, PVCu manufacture, Investment,  Partnerships and Residential & Commercial Developments.
With a turnover in excess of £125 million a year and shareholders' funds of over £73 million, the business is in very good health and continues to look forward with well defined plans for growth in all its core activities.

People are our most important asset and they are vital to our ambitions. Strong management teams are in place at each of the Group’s subsidiaries, with measurable performance targets and a profit-orientated growth philosophy, they ensure good progress year-on-year. This, together with our ongoing investment in employee training will motivate further an already committed pool of talented people, now numbering 700 throughout The Walker Group.

With excellent acquisition and business integration skills the Group is always mindful of new opportunities which present a good strategic fit to its activities and therefore expects growth to come via this route as well as planned organic development.

We are also keen to pursue opportunities where we can continue to establish joint venture initiatives with a range of financial, commercial and public sector partners.
